The Little Prince!
This is one of my earliest coats made way back in the mid eighties. I use to sell on Melrose to a wonderful little store called Rock Star. This coat went there.
It is trimmed out with this great leather I found at Cinema Leather. I worked there for a while and would trade in my paychecks for leather hides. Arlene the owner would get these really strange samples that really appealed to me. One particular piece was heavy pig suede with a Formica style wood grain printed on it. I just loved that stuff. It was so strange to take a natural piece of leather and with artificial plastic ink, print a Formica wood grain pattern on it which was a artificial version of a natural element! Fake wood grain! Printed on suede! In plastic! On leather! It was too cool for words. I still have some really strange leather left over from that time and could recreate this coat for you. Viva La Eighties! Email for estimate.
